Who are the dental care providers in the network?

The dental care providers in the EDP Network of dentists have all been thoroughly screened and their credentials reviewed to ensure they are qualified and meet the high standards of care required by EDP. Dental care providers can be looked up using the Dentist Locator found at the top of every page.

How can a member change his/her dentists?

It is very simple and no paper work is required. Members can switch dentists as often as they wish. They can even see multiple dentists at one time. Just call a customer service representative to inquire whether the dentist is participating in the EDP Dental Plan, or check using the Dentist Locator.

Can the plan be used for specialty treatments?

Yes! All treatments are eligible for discounts.

What are the requirements for a group dental plan?

EDP offers special reduced rates for groups, unions and companies of 10 or more. Call a customer service representative at 631.272.5230 to learn more.

What are the eligibility requirements?

EDP Dental Plan can be obtained by anyone under any age category. EDP offers plans for individuals, couples, families and groups.

How soon can I visit a dentist?

Often on the same day that you sign up. After signing up, membership ID cards will be mailed, and can be expected within five business days. However, in the meantime, new members can simply mention their member ID number at participating providers, and receive access to the EDP rates on the very same day they sign up.

Who is the provider?

A provider is a dentist who is participating with us and offers the services as mentioned in the Plan at a discounted and predetermined rate. These are dedicated and trusted practitioners and deliver quality services.

What is the Membership duration?

This is a yearly membership that is effective from the date you receive your membership card.

Though we have tried to collect and give answers to most of the queries that we have received in the past, you can call on our toll free number, or contact us by fax, email, website for any further assistance. How to use a Discount Plan

It's easy to use your discount plan. Once you have joined the plan and received your membership kit, simply follow these directions and start using your membership card! (Some discounts will have specific directions on how to use. Please review your membership kit for details.)

  1. Keep your membership card with you at all times so it will be easily accessible to present at provider locations. You must present your membership card at the time of service to receive a discount.
  2. To locate and verify participating providers in your area, simply call Member Services at (631) 272-5230. When calling to schedule an appointment, please refer to the membership card for proper network identification when speaking to a participating provider's office.
  3. You are responsible for paying the provider the entire discounted fee at the time service is provided.

All of the above charges are reduced fees for services performed by a participating general dentist. Fees subject to change without notice. Consult with your participating dentist prior to beginning any treatment. Fees may not include all lab costs, which would be the member's responsibility. Some services, at the discretion of the general dentist, may need to be referred to a specialist (advanced degree). Payments are subject to change without notification.

*Any treatment provided by a participating specialist, if available, in Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics or Endodontics will be charged at a 25% reduction of participating specialist's fees for that particular case. Some specialists may require a consultation visit before treatment is initiated. Discuss each case with specialist prior to beginning any treatment.

  1. Work in progress is not covered.
  2. Work in progress after enrollment on the dental plan must be completed before selecting another participating dentist.
  3. Any dental procedures performed by a non-participating dentist are not covered.
  4. We cannot guarantee the continued participation of any dentist. If he/she leaves the plan, you will need to select another dentist.
  5. Not all types of dentists may be available in your area; you may have to travel to receive care from a participating general dentist or specialist.
  6. Some providers may charge for missed or broken appointments with no prior notice.
  7. Please verify that the dentist is a participating provider when scheduling your appointment.
